Frequently asked safety audit questions

Answers about audit duration, power isolation, reports, standards, repairs, statutory approvals and booking a NexSafety inspection.

How long does a NexSafety audit take?

A Basic Home Safety Audit normally takes 30 to 45 minutes. Premium and commercial scopes take longer because they include more measurements, systems and evidence capture.

Will power need to be switched off?

Visual checks do not require isolation. A short planned shutdown may be requested for continuity, polarity or safe panel checks. The engineer explains this before any isolation.

What is included in the report?

The report records observed conditions, photographs where permitted, risk priority, corrective actions and the suggested sequence for repair and recheck.

Does NexSafety perform the repair work?

NexSafety keeps the audit independent from repair execution. We explain the findings and can share contractor-selection guidance, while the property owner appoints the repair professional.

Is a NexSafety report a statutory fire NOC?

No. It is a preventive audit and maintenance-readiness document. Statutory fire NOCs and legal approvals must be obtained from the competent authority where applicable.

Which properties can be inspected?

Homes, flats, villas, RWAs, restaurants, schools, offices, shops and selected commercial or industrial premises can be scoped after an initial discussion.

Which standards inform the checklist?

The scope references applicable good practice from NBC 2016 Part 4, IS 732, IS 3043, IS 2189 and IS 14489, with NFPA and IEC benchmarks used only where relevant.

How often should a home be checked?

An annual preventive check is a practical baseline, especially before heavy summer loads. Earlier rechecks are sensible after renovation, major appliance additions, repeated tripping, burning odour or visible heat damage.

What should I prepare before the visit?

Keep the main distribution board accessible, note recent tripping or repair history, list high-load appliances and avoid using any point that is hot, burnt, loose or producing an unusual smell.

What happens after I submit an enquiry?

The request is saved through Netlify Forms and sent to the NexSafety desk. The team follows up by phone or WhatsApp to confirm scope, availability and site details.
